Nut butters manufacturer Meridian Foods has unveiled its new brand identity, which it says reflects its lifelong obsession with the beauty of the natural world.

Taking inspiration from the colours found in nature, Meridian said its new packaging has been reinvigorated to align with the “simple beauty of the natural world and the undeniable deliciousness of nut butter”. Alongside the brand refresh, Meridian will also launch a new 470g – the first family size Palm Oil-free peanut butter in a glass jar in the UK.

Fast-growing

Meridian Foods was founded in the 1980s. Originally a health food shop favourite, Meridian has expanded its range in more ways than one. It boasts the UK’s widest range of nut butters and is on supermarket shelves nationwide. As a testament to its popularity, Meridian Foods has recently been recognised by Nielsen as one of the fastest-growing major food brands in the UK – growing by 10% year on year.

Its best selling large format 1kg nut butters – the size for the real nut butter fanatics – are the market leader with nearly half of all UK sales, and proving an even bigger hit recently with sales +50%.

Meridian said its sustainably-sourced nuts are “treated with respect and subtly”. Processing is kept to a minimum and the core range of nut butters contain just one ingredient – nuts. Meridian added that its commitment to nature means it prioritises ethics – all its products are 100% palm oil free. The company was the first nut butter brand in the world to be certified palm oil-free by the International Palm Oil Free Certification Trademark (POFCAP).

Since then, the company has also become a corporate partner of major wildlife charity International Animal Rescue, who are leaders in rescuing endangered Orang-Utans from Palm Oil led deforestation.

Sue McIntosh, head of marketing, said: “We felt the time was right to reflect our commitment to sustainably-sourced, all-natural ingredients, on our packs! We’re extremely excited to see the new brand in shops and we hope that you like the new design as much as we do.”

Available in 170g jars to 1kg tubs, Meridian’s nut butters include: Peanut, Almond, Cashew, Pistachio and Hazelnut & Cocoa. The new packaging is arriving in store now!

Stockists include Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Asda, Waitrose,Dunnes, SuperValu, Holland and Barrett and Independent Health Food Stores.
