European airline Wizz Air has appointed The Only Way Is Essex star, Gemma Collins, as brand ambassador.

Collins, aka the GC, will collaborate with the Hungarian budget airline to provide UK passengers with post-lockdown holiday inspiration for summer 2020.

Following the appointment Wizz Air launched a multi-channel campaign called ‘Get Away This Summer with Gemma Collins and Wizz Air’ to promote the partnership. The campaign includes adverts, social media content and a mini documentary, all featuring Collins.

The mini documentary follows Collins as she escapes lockdown on a Wizz Air flight to Tenerife. She advertises the airline’s enhanced health and hygiene measures and its new roster of holiday destinations, all while maintaining her diva style.

Owain Jones, the MD of Wizz Air UK, said: “UK customers have been saying ‘yes!’ to flying on Wizz Air UK’s brand-new holiday routes – and now we’re delighted that Gemma Collins has said ‘Yes!” to flying with Wizz too.

“Gemma’s bright, bubbly personality and love of holidays makes her the perfect ambassador for Wizz Air – and we’re excited to share Gemma’s great experience on board one of our flights to the sunny island of Tenerife.”

As a brand ambassador for the airline, Collins will showcase some of Wizz Air’s new sunshine destinations, including her favourite holidays spots in Spain, Portugal and Greece. As part of the campaign, she will also share her top tips and favourite things to do, eat and see in these destinations.

Collins said: “Anyone who knows me knows I am all about holidays, so Wizz have come to the right person for some travel inspo! Whether it’s siestas and fiestas in Marbs or sunbathing and dancing through the night on a Greek Island, I have got a tip or two up my sleeve. Now We Can All Fly like the GC!”
