Bloom & Wild eliminates failed deliveries with PCA Predict

The international capability of PCA Predict’s technology could also help Bloom & Wild to extend its operations further afield

The client:

Flower delivery company Bloom & Wild was founded on the belief that sending and receiving flowers should be a straightforward and enjoyable process.

The company has developed its signature bespoke presentation boxes both to protect the flowers inside and to conveniently fit through the recipients postbox.

The challenge:

Bloom & Wild’s user friendly website and app enable customers to order flower arrangements, which are designed by professional florists, at the click of a button. The arrangements can be delivered to any address in the UK and now expanding into mainland Europe. The company’s biggest challenge was to ensure it captured accurate customer address details to ensure fail-safe delivery.

The solution:

Bloom & Wild is not only committed to delivering beautiful floral gifts to its customers, but also to ensuring its customers receive a frictionless website experience. A number of business associates had recommended PCA Predict’s address validation technology to the founder and CEO of Bloom & Wild and, following a testing phase, the team was confident it would deliver the results that they wanted.

Bloom & Wild prides itself on delivering fresh flowers, so it’s important that recipients receive them on time. With the increase in mobile transactions, it was critical for the company to implement address verification, as it can be easy to make errors entering delivery details on a smaller device.

PCA Predict’s intuitive software auto-completes address entry forms, making it straightforward to use for people on the move. Utilising typeahead autocomplete technology, means that an address can more or less be entered from any angle, enabling a more natural search capability. As soon as a user starts typing a business name, street or postcode, PCA Predict’s retail technology suggests results to auto-complete the address. The product works on any internet enabled device, from computers and tablets to smartphones and EPoS kiosks.

The result:

Rescheduling a delivery is expensive and time consuming for Bloom & Wild as it involves numerous resources, including replacing the flowers, packaging and postage as well as admin time. As a company, Bloom & Wild is responsible for covering these costs, even though the address error may have not been the company’s fault. Misdeliveries not only have a financial impact on the company, it can also have a significant reputational impact on a brand.

PCA Predict’s address verification technology has enabled Bloom & Wild to eliminate failed deliveries at the receiver end and has significantly improved user experience for its customers. PCA Predict’s address validation solution is simple to integrate and can be aggregated across the different components of an online process to create a seamless user experience.

“From using PCA Predict’s software, we’ve definitely seen significant double-digit percentage increases in conversion rates”, says Aron Gelbard, co-founder and CEO, Bloom & Wild.

The international capability of PCA Predict’s address validation technology has also provided Bloom & Wild with the scope to extend its operations further afield. PCA Predict’s introduction of Eircodes, for instance, has enabled Bloom & Wild to grow their business into the Republic of Ireland.
