Premium gin brand Bombay Sapphire has launched Cocktails & Create, an online cocktail making masterclass, as part of its ‘Stir Creativity at Home’ series.

The event will take place on the May 22, and will be hosted by artist and illustrator, Joey Yu, and mixologist Franck Dedieu. The evening will focus on the creation of two drinks: a Classic Gin and Tonic with a twist, and a Classic Bramble Cocktail.

With an emphasis on ‘create’, the one hour virtual class will allow participants to tap into their creative side.

Dedieu said: “Mastering cocktail serves is a brilliant way to get creative at home. Your kitchen store cupboard provides a myriad of unique garnishes and ingredients that you might not have realised could be cocktail components before.”

The virtual workshop follows research by Bombay Sapphire that suggested that 83% of people want to be more creative. 54% of those surveyed cited a yearning for a ‘sense of achievement’ and 48% expressed a desire to ‘explore new outlets for self-expression’.

Creativity will not just flow through drinks, as Yu plans to take guests through the concept of ‘windowscapes’, leading them to draw their own ‘bold and modern’ window scene.

Yu explained: “The concept of ‘windowscapes’ allows us to reimagine the world and depict what it is we want to see when we look at the world.

Whether it’s based on a memory, somewhere we’ve always aspired to visit or maybe just our current view with a different perspective. There is no better time to explore your creative side than right now.”

The workshop is part of Bombay Sapphire’s ‘Stir Creativity at Home’ series, launched to help encourage creativity and expression for time spent at home.

The event will take place on video-conferencing platform Zoom and will host up to 30 people. The complimentary tickets can be found on the Eventbrite page.
